Farming Systems Comparison in the Tropics
The "Farming Systems Comparison in the Tropics" (SysCom) project, initiated by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) in close collaboration with local partners, seeks to provide a robust scientific foundation for evaluating the performance and potential of conventional and organic agricultural systems in tropical regions. Launched in 2007, the project conducts long-term farming systems comparison field trials and participatory on-farm research across three tropical countries—Bolivia, India, and Kenya—each focusing on region-specific cropping systems.
